JB ShingleFix - staple fixing system for installing cedar shingles

cedar shingles installation

JB ShingleFix is an exclusive new system, unique to John Brash that cuts the installation cost of a Western Red Cedar shingle roof. Independent tests witnessed by the NFRC and recently completed projects have confirmed the system.

Using JB ShingleFix to install shingle roofs, projects have seen reductions of up to 65% for low pitched roofs (95mm gauge) and 50% for standard roofs (125mm gauge)#. Watch an installation video for JB ShingleFix.

JB ShingleFix uses specially designed stainless steel staples to fix the shingle instead of using the traditional silicon bronze nail. These can only be used with our recommended Paslode staple gun.

Using concrete tiles as base zero.

This puts the cost of a Natural Western Red Cedar roof at no more than double lap (or plain) tiling with the additional benefits of:

  • Increased Thermal Insulation – Timber is a good insulator, Cedar Shingles have a value of K=0.1067 W/m°C
  • Less weight – Shingles are over 80% lighter that clay plain tiles
  • Renewable – Timber is a growing resource. All JB Shingles are either PEFC or FSC accredited
  • Low Carbon – Timber acts as a carbon sink, every m3 of timber absorbs one tonne of CO2.
