Project Information:   Over 3,000 linear metres of Thermowood cladding was used on this impressive contemporary structure on the new Ł9.2m Gateway Building located at the University of Cumbria’s historic Lancaster Campus.  Thermowood cladding is fitted onto the first floor of the building, which provides an aesthetic over-hang above the ground floor and offers panoramic balcony views over Lancaster and Morecambe Bay.   Situated next to the mid-nineteenth century Bowerham Barracks, it was important to respect the heritage of the area and the combination of grey stone and timber cladding does this.
