JB Antislip Plus® timber decking from John Brash has been specified on the new TCR ‘Hub’, a new multi activity and community centre.

The JB Antislip Plus® inserts were installed around the wetland and wildlife reserve. It was also used to construct a jetty that leads out onto the main canoeing lake. The jetty was supported by timber piles.

Main contractor on site was Clugston Construction, who installed the JB Antislip Plus® decking. Originally solid oak decking had been considered however, when North Yorkshire-based Arlene McIntosh Landscape Architects were presented with samples of John Brash’s JB Antislip Plus®, it was decided that it presented a safer and much better value for money solution.

JB Antislip Plus® was considered to be the best option because of the boardwalks proximity to water and over hanging vegetation. In these conditions, deck boards that don’t have anti slip inserts can become extremely slippery, resulting in an increased potential for slips and trips by visitors.

Two grey JB Antislip Plus® inserts were specified on this project because it was considered that it helped the boardwalk blend in with its natural surroundings.
